As a Karitane trained Mothercraft nurse I have always had a love for working with children. In fact my husband and I have 3 beautiful children of our own
On completion of my training I began my 20 year career working in the Newborn Intensive care nursery at one of Sydney’s leading teaching hospitals. It was during this period that I gained extensive knowledge in the care of preterm and other newborns. Working in this environment I developed feeding & settling techniques for newborns, many with special needs.
Since establishing my career I have worked for many families & in a range of professional roles working extensively in residential units such as Karitane & Tresillian family care centres. I am now enjoying helping mothers and babies in the community, sharing the skills I have gained & empowering the families I will be working with.Joanne - Consultant
As a trained Mothercraft Nurse completing my training in 1983, I have enjoyed over 20 years of work with many families. I have had the pleasure of working with babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers in the field of child care.
Currently I am working as a Mothercraft Nurse in the residential unit at the Tresillian Family Care Centre. In this time I have gained valuable skills & knowledge and also to work in partnership with families. My core experience is with young babies, fussy feeders, breastfeeding issues, sleep problems and terrific toddlers!
I myself am a mother of two boys with whom I enjoy a busy, active life!
